Badminton has finished for the year. A nice finish for Jarrod Kloostra who represented CCHS, along with Bryce and Victoria Koomans, at SWOSSA. Jarrod finished in 5th place and was the “last Kent player left standing”. The seniors who went to SWOSSA were Alyson Bierling, Cameron Koomans, Peter Sung, Sam DeBoer, and Laura Wiersma.
Then on the weekend part pf the team travelled to Brock University to play in the Christian Schools Tournament. Jarrod Kloostra played well and was on target to make it to the playoffs but suffered from an injury. Cameron Koomans and Peter Sung were points away from making it to the playoffs while Alyson Bierling in Girls’ Singles and Samantha DeBoer and Laura Wiersma (Girls’ Doubles) went to the finals. Both of these teams ended up in second place. In total the CCHS team came in 4th place in the Seniors’ Division out of 19 teams. This is the best finish CCHS has done ever! Thank you to all the coaches for their time and effort with this jam-packed season: Dale Smith, Kevin Wolting, Brian Koomans, and Jonathan Mark.Team, please wash your shirts and hand them in to Mrs. Smith sooner rather than later.
