This Week at a Glance... Monday, November 24, 2014

Boys' Volleyball -- has finally come to an end... sadly for some of the guys, I'm sure.  But what a season they had! This was the first time that a team from CCHS has made it to OFSAA and what an experience. They ended up playing in the Semi-finals of the Consolation round.... which made them tied for 11th overall. Interestingly, the top 4 teams at OFSAA were Christian School teams: Woodland, Toronto, Quinte, and Smithville. Thank you so much to the Coaches Richard Koomans and Dale Lahey and their wives for letting them dedicate so much time to the team!
Thank you to all the Sponsors who helped to cover the costs of OFSAA... to all the individuals and to the following businesses: Citi Linx, European Construction Trades Group, Lally Ford Sales and Service, Ray-Mac Distributors Ltd, Schinkel's Legacy, and MC Business Solutions.

Mid week update... Thursday, November 6, 2014

Congrats to the Senior Boys' Volleyball team for their win last night in the Semifinals against LKCS. They are now preparing to host the Finals tomorrow (Friday the 7th) at 5 o'clock. There will be an admissions price to off-set the costs at adults $2 and students $1. Get your PURPLE on and support the team!!

The Senior Girls' Basketball team had a tough game against Ridgetown in the Quarter Finals on Tuesday. Unfortunately, they just did not bring enough the court. They had a great experience on the weekend with their Christian Schools Tournament but are out in the first round of league playoffs. It was a building year but the team did very well and improved greatly over the season. Many thanks to Coaches Ron Berlemont and Samantha DeBoer. Thanks also to all the parents who came out faithfully.

This Week at a Glance.... Monday, November 3, 2014

Girls' Basketball -- The young team had a great weekend at the Christian Schools Tournament.
Coach Berlemont reports, "the team behaved and performed very well in Hamilton. We won our first game against Rehoboth, then our second game against UMEI.  Our next game was immediately after against Brampton and we ran out of energy in the second half to lose. We played on Saturday morning against Quinte and won to capture third place in the B division."  Good job ladies and thanks to Coach Berlemont and to the parents that went along to support the team.
Play Offs Begin this week!  The team will continue to play as long as they continue to win -- Practice today at 3:30-5 pm.  Tomorrow Quarter Finals against Ridgetown... in Ridgetown at 4:30 pm.  Wednesday practice at 3:30-4:45 pm.  Thursday will be Semi Finals.... TBD.

Boys' Volleyball -- The team had their ups and downs in the Christian Schools Tournament this past weekend. Unfortunately, they lost in the first round of the B flight... sending them home early. It was a fun weekend for the team, coaches, and parents that went along to support them.
They also start their playoffs this week!  The Boys' ended up first in the league and so have a bye from the Quarter Finals.  They will host Semi-Finals here on Wednesday.  Likely at 5:30 pm but the time is to be confirmed yet.  They practice Monday at 5; Tuesday at 3:30 and Thursday at 3:30 pm  Finals are scheduled for Friday.  Go Flames!!
