Fantastic job everyone!

The Boys’ Soccer team struggled in the local league this year.  They played some tough games in some difficult weather. Their highlight of the season was probably their success at the Christian Schools Tournament. Many thanks to coaches Roger Grootenboer and Steve Kloostra for their efforts with the team, their passion in soccer and their willingness to share this passion with the team. A team party (along with the girls’ team) will be held on Thursday, May 29th from 3:30-5:30 pm at Brian Roffel’s house.

Players please wash and return your team shirts.

The Girls’ Soccer team will wrap up with a team party at Brian Roffel’s house from 3:30-5:30 on Thursday this week. Thanks again to Coaches Brian and Jenny Roffel, Karen Koomans, and chaperone Patricia Verbeek. Girls remember to hand in your clean shirts as well as the extra $10’s to help cover bus expenses.

Badminton – yes, believe it or not, there are still 1-2 badminton shirts that need to be returned!!! Ugh!!

Some of our team’s highlights were a lot of personal best performances and some top 5 placing…
Our two big “Meet Champions” were Ainsley McNamara who won the 800m, 1500m and the 3000m setting a meet record in the 3k and, Kyle Marez was the only Senior guy double winner in the meet.  He set two personal bests and he was also 3rd in the 3000m.  Great Job!

This week they have the Kent Finals on Tuesday and Wednesday at the track behind CKSS.

Boys’ Soccer travelled to the Hamilton/Oakville area for the Christian Schools Tournament this past weekend.  They had a great weekend, played hard and worked their  way into the B Flight finals.  Unfortunately, they lost in the finals but played really well.  Good work Flames!  Many thanks to Coach Steve for leading the team and to Richard and Mike for driving!

This is what is on the schedule for this week:
Monday, May 12 – home game v. LKCS
     4:00 pm Game
Wednesday, May 14 – practice
     3:30 – 5:00 pm
Thursday, May 15 – away game v. CKSS
4:00 pm Game -- We will need help with transportation across town for this game.

Girls’ Soccer – the ladies formed a team so that they could go to the Christian Schools Tournament this past weekend.  They ended up playing well together and were second in the B Flight in pool play.  They won their first game in playoffs but then lost against the strong Toronto team in the semi-finals.  They then faced Quinte fighting for 3rd but lost against them as well.  A good effort and fun weekend for the girls.  Thank you very much to Coaches Brian and Jenny Roffel and Karen Koomans.  Thanks also to Patricia Verbeek for helping to chaperone.
