This Week at a Glance... October 20, 2014

Last week our Cross Country team participated in the LKSSAA meet (what used to be known as the Kent Finals but now includes all of Kent and Lambton schools). Our girls ran very strong with Rebekah Fehr running her personal best and very bold in the Senior Girls. Ainsley McNmara was 10th in the Junior Girls. Senior Boys were lead by Justin McNamara in 3rd place, Daniel Grootenboer in 4th place and Jarrod Kloostra and Stewart Watson rounded out the team as they placed 6th overall.  Great job team!
Practice on Monday to prepare for SWOSSAA on Wednesday in Sarnia.

The Boys' Volleyball team were strong in a tournament hosted at our school this past Friday evening. They won all of their games in a 8-team tournament. They won the Finals in 2 games straight against Lajeunesse. Other schools participating were ESPC, Blenheim, Tilbury, UMEI, Providence, and St. Pat's. Good job team! Thanks to the ladies helping with score keeping.
This week the volleyball boys travel to PainCourt for league games on Wednesday.  Practice on Monday from 5-6:30 and on Tuesday 3:30-5 pm.

The Girls' Basketball team played in a tough tournament in Wallaceburg last week. The girls played well and improved as the tournament went on. They won their last game, had a chance to try some new plays, and had fun.
This week they travel to Ridgetown on Tuesday for a 5:30 game and on Thursday to Blenheim (yes, even though it is a PD day for our school, they still have a game) at 5:30 pm. Practices are Monday and Wednesday 3:30-5 pm.

Coach needed! We are desperately looking for a basketball coach for our boys’ basketball team (high school). Their season starts in mid-November until mid-February and we cannot find anyone willing/able to coach them. If we cannot find someone, we will not be able to have a team for our guys. Obviously, this is not something we want to give up. We need YOUR help in finding someone.  Please, speak to friends, family, neighbours and let’s pull together to get this team up and running.  Contact Sharon Smith if you have any ideas at 519-352-4980 or sharonsmith@chathamchristian.ca.  Thank you!
